College Autonomy

When we talk about autonomy, we say that someone or something works on its own. This means with no help from others. This also means to be involved and to go beyond instead of being superficial or even expecting things from someone or somewhere else.
People can have autonomy but also organizations, enterprises, colleges, and son on. In this case, the immediate example of a college that is autonomous is the BUAP, a public university. Its autonomy relies on the fact that since its foundation, this college has grown based on efforts, achievements, and results. This is a college which economically depends on the allowance received by the people who pay their studies there. This is what makes it autonomous. The BUAP also receives a certain amount of money from the government every year; however, it is the government which gives the money and not the college that asks for it. That way, the university is able to create new infrastructure and updating the existing one, and increasing the total of people who can have access to the college and perform their studies.
The autonomy can also be reflected on the participation in the society. The BUAP is one of the few who has presence in society affairs. Since it is one of the most important colleges in the state, its opinions are very remarkable and also are very heavy to people in the capital and even the rest of the state.
Autonomy, in general, has different forms. In this essay the main example is a very well known public college. That university is the perfect example of many types of autonomy. Perhaps the most important is the economical one since it is a college which asks for nothing to anyone. It is very big and it has been mentioned very little about it. Nevertheless, it is clear enough to have an idea of what autonomy is.
